Here’s an article I wrote for the literary outdoors magazine Adventum (page 35). It’s a sneak preview of my forthcoming book, The Essential Guide to Mountain and Trials Unicycling. Hope you enjoy…
The Ski Channel has released the trailer for a new feature film called Winter, starring a number of athletes including myself (Kris). The film focuses on mountain sport athletes who push boundaries - the people behind the action. The producers digitally re-mastered some of my original 16 mm footage from New World disorder, and it includes footage from the cliff riding shoot that’s never been seen before.
The film is set to premiere in Hollywood in early October.
Here’s the trailer:
South African rider Christo Coetzer has circumnavigated Jamaica on his KH36. Check it out here.
Daniel Burón has won the 2011 KH Evolution of Balance award!
The Evolution of Balance award supports riders seeking non-competitive mountain unicycling adventures around the world, and includes $1700 cash, a KH unicycle, and a set of KH pads and gloves.
Daniel proposed to ride 900 km of mostly offroad terrain along the St. James Way pilgrimage, from St.Jean Pied-de-Port in France to MuxÃa in Spain.
More info is at Daniel’s website. He’ll be blogging regularly once he starts his trip in late June, so check back for details.
Sincere thanks to Nathan Hoover and Horny Toad Activewear for contributing to the annual grant, and to Unicycle.com for sponsoring logistics.
