Effective braking on a unicycle is a learned technique that goes far beyond simple friction. With practice, a brake increases traction, increases control on drops to slopes, reduces fatigue on bumpy descents, and even increases speed by smoothing out your pedaling. Once you use a brake on a 24” or larger wheel unicycle, you will wonder how you did without it.

The following add-ons will help you attach a brake lever to your brake compatible unicycle. Both are designed for use with the the Spooner brake lever attachment.

Handle-mount brake bracket

Lightweight brake lever attachment bracket mounted under the saddle handle. Precise, U-shaped attachment plate maximizes front-to-back brake adjustment.

Bracket front profile has been reshaped with a 45 degree cutaway to lower the profile and reduce weight.
